Merck Research Lab – Boston, MA
The facade for this research center is a custom unitized double glazed curtain wall with a stainless steel “tuning fork” detail at the mullions, mitered at each intersection. Two 5 story atria are framed for walls and glazed ceilings with Architectural Exposed Structural Steel and stainless steel tension rod trusses.
Responsibility: Prior to joining The Facade Group, staff led the technical efforts for the detailing, documentation and construction with attention to the curtain wall. Leadership functions included system selection, quality assurance of documents, bidding and contracting descope, mock-up development and lab testing, shop inspections, on site quality observations and oversight of the facade consulting teams.
